Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez, brothers from Ecuador who are Swiss and play guitar and lap steel, respectively, created the Latin instrumental ensemble Hermanos Gutiérrez (Spanish for "Gutiérrez Brothers") in Zürich in 2015. El Bueno y el Malo, the band's fifth album, was released in 2022 by the US label Easy Eye Sound.

Their most ambitious expedition to date is El Bueno Y El Malo: Working with Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys at his Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville, they have created ten vibrant songs that showcase their personal guitar playing, in which the melodies and rhythms of one brother become inseparable from those of the other. When they perform together, they create a "deeper, darker energy" that is characterized by intricate arrangements, deft musicianship, and most importantly, a very close bond.
