The collaboration was a seamless blend of two worlds – Linn, a pioneer in high-fidelity audio, and The Macallan, a purveyor of exceptional single malt whisky. The event was hosted at the illustrious Jass Lounge, enabling an intimate evening that would tantalize the senses and leave a lasting impression on all who attended. Guests were taken on an immersive musical journey, listening to Linn’s most remarkable music system to date the 360, while sampling the exquisite expressions of The Macallan Double Cask Range. The location served as a symbolic setting for the audio journey proposed by Dubai Audio, showcasing the unparalleled sound of Linn’s immersive systems as a stimulating alternative to live band experience.
Guests were welcomed into the sleek and sophisticated ambiance of Jass Lounge, where they were immediately enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance. Staged in the center of the Jass Lounge where traditionally bands would perform, now the Linn Klimax DSM and Linn’s flagship 360 Loudspeakers grabbed the attention of guests, by creating an unconventional acoustic and visual impression. The rich ‘Single Malt’ finish of the Linn 360 loudspeakers perfectly complimented the colour and depth of a dram as well as the sophisticated interiors of the Jass Lounge and intrigued guests to experience sound from a new perspective.
Linn and The Macallan were introduced by none other than their experts who arrived to this special evening from Scotland. Michael O’Rourke, Linn’s expert, welcomed guests with a heartfelt speech entailing the history of Linn and the company’s commitment to sonic excellence, sharing insightful stories on how, for instance, the systems are handmade in their factory by one individual. He was then joined by Chloe, The Macallan’s expert, who continued to unfold the story behind the evening’s collaboration, leading up to the highlight of the evening, a curated listening experience paired with a tasting experience of their finest whiskies.
The guests had the opportunity to explore the nuanced offering of The Macallan’s Double Cask Collection. Beautifully balanced by European and American Oak, sherry seasoned in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, the Double Cask Collection is a range which consists of a 12, 15, 18 and 30 years old release. As Chloe walked the audience through the complex sensorial journey, highlighting the differences in character, each flavour was paired with a soundtrack handpicked and curated by Michael from Linn.
